A WORD FROM PASTOR TEWELL

It is my privilege to welcome you to our Rosedale family! We are thrilled that you have chosen to join our team.

Rosedale Baptist Church and School exists to proclaim the Word of God. That starts on our campuses with YOU! We worship Jesus. We believe and study the Bible. We encourage each other and build each other up. We have been called to spread the Gospel and reach the next one—the next student in Baltimore and lost souls around the world.

It is my prayer that we all be willing to serve and be flexible wherever needed. Along the way, know that we are here for you and walk this road by your side.

We are Rosedale!

WHO

WE

ARE

Founded in 1963, Rosedale Baptist Church was led by several different pastors until 1997 when Pastor Scott Tewell was installed by a nearly unanimous vote. Over twenty years later, God has blessed Rosedale Baptist Church and expanded its reach far beyond Baltimore. This ministry has seen hundreds of lives transformed by Christ, countless addictions overcome by the power of God’s Word, and a continued opportunity to expand our outreach to the community and around the world.

Rosedale Baptist Church exists to proclaim the Word of God in Baltimore and around the world as we seek to connect people to Christ and His church.

That starts on campus every weekend through our Sunday experience. Our Sunday services and groups are the catalyst that propels our church body to pursue hard after Jesus. We do that through clear Biblical preaching, uplifting worship, and abundant outreach opportunities
.

1963
In 1963, Rev. Bryant Nelson established the church in a house on Philadelphia Road.

1970
The land we now know as Rosedale Baptist Church was purchased at 9202  Philadelphia Road. Our chapel was built and used
as the main building for church services.

1997
In 1997, Pastor Scott Tewell is hired on at Rosedale Baptist Church. Months after Pastor Tewell came on staff, we began construction on our first Worship Center seating 650.

2000
Rosedale Baptist School was founded with only 30 students. Now over twenty years later, RBS is edifying, educating, and equipping nearly 1,000 students.

2006
We watched God grow and bless His church. In 2006, Rosedale Baptist Church broke ground to begin construction on our Worship Center expansion, increasing seating to 1,700.

2007
Our Family Life Center, which consists of a gymnasium, office spaces, a kitchen and more, was completed in 2007.This was the perfect space for RBS and RBC to hold gatherings.

2011
Our education wing that we now know as Rosedale Baptist School, was a much needed addition to our main campus.

2013
In 2013, our chapel was renovated, adding a sound booth and new stage area. Now this area is used for Life Groups, Rkids, Choir, and Spanish Church.

2018
In 2018, Rosedale Baptist School expanded by purchasing a location in White Marsh. Our White Marsh campus would later open in 2019.

2019
Our nurseries were remodeled in the winter of 2019 to better serve Rosedale families. It has been such a blessing for many to have a safe, welcoming environment for their children.

2021
Our last project was the renovation of our Worship Center in 2021. New carpet, auditorium seating, and fresh paint modernized our Worship Center to match the rest of our campus.

2022
Great things are happening! The Lord allowed us to renovate the second building on our White Marsh Campus and further expand Rosedale Christian.

HOW

WE

ARE

Rosedale Baptist Church seeks to have diversity across ministries in a variety of ways. We value a broad spectrum of opinions, perspectives, backgrounds, and methods. We believe that we are stronger as a ministry because of our diversity. It allows us to see each issue from multiple vantage points and provides a helpful perspective as we seek to reach the next one.

Rosedale Baptist Church is impacting our community for Christ through the myriad of ministries we offer.

Our addictions program saw dozens come to know Christ last year as they spent over 6,000 hours volunteering. Our Spanish and Deaf ministries allow us to share the truth of God’s Word with a growing number of people. Our Student ministries and Outreach ministries facilitated dozens of programs that were targeted at building up families in our community and showing the love of Christ to all. There are countless ways for you to get involved in our mission to connect people to Christ and His church.
